Dear Colleagues,
As I review the past two years of the C. G. Jung Alumni Association, the Board has addressed several challenges, including website issues and growing our membership. We also achieved many other significant successes:
- Contributing to the CGJI-Z Jubilee celebration last year was a great achievement, including holding seminar dialogues between analysts and diploma candidates;
- Forming a collegial dream group for our members;
- Increasing our membership to 79 analysts;
- Moderating thesis conversations in which new graduates discuss their work;
- Creating a Blog with Alumni articles as well as Community, Social and Culture Issues
This year we have been planning for the upcoming IAAP Congress. In collaboration with the C. G. Jung Picture Archive Exhibit, JIAA will sponsor and host an apero at the Congress. The apero will be held on Monday, August 26, from 7:00-9:00PM in the Oktogon next to the Senatssaal at the University of Vienna. We hope that many of you will join us.
We are very proud that several of our members will be presenting at the Congress: Verena Kast, Dominique Lepori, Jerome Braun, Barbara Whitaker, Cecile Buckenmeyer, Michael Escamilla, Caterina Vezzoli, and John Hoedl. Ruth Ammann, Curator of the Archive, will open the Picture Archive Exhibit.
At the Congress, the JIAA will have a General Assembly of our members on Wednesday, August 28 from 3:00-5:00PM (please email secretary@junginstitut-alumni.ch if you would like to receive a copy of the agenda and map of the meeting location). We will be discussing the future of the JIAA and share ideas that keep us all connected and in touch with the lives of our members. We will share ideas about how to continue our support for the C. G. Jung Institute, help new graduates navigate the new analytic life by providing information about IAAP participation, Society participation and other issues relevant to post-graduate life. We also are planning for exciting events and seminars exclusively for our membership. If at all possible, please plan to attend this important meeting.
The coming years hold much promise for our organization. On behalf of the Board, we look forward to seeing you in Vienna!!
Janis Maxwell, President
